WAITING FOR YOUR LOVE

By: Stevie B.

** I just love this song. haha! emo..

How can I explain
The sorrow and my pain
I believe that you and I should be
Together once again
Every night I pray
That you 19ll come back to me
But the tears keep falling down my face
When you 19re not around

But not no more
Gone away
All I do is wait for you
Each and every day
But not no more
Gone away
All I do is wait for you
Each and every day

Oh I 19m waiting for your love
I 19m wondering where you are
Are you with another guy
Are you showing him the world
Oh I 19m waiting for your love
I wanna see your smile
Brighten up my day
Yes I 19m waiting for your love
Yes I 19m waiting for your love

Didn 19t sleep last night
I 19m waiting by the phone
Wondering where you are tonight
If you are alone
If I had another chance
I 19d never let you go
My heart 19s been broken in two
And it 19s all because of you

But not no more
Gone away
All I do is wait for you
Each and every day
But not no more
Gone away
All I do is wait for you
Each and every day

Oh I 19m waiting for your love
I 19m wondering where you are
Are you with another guy
Are you showing him the world
Oh I 19m waiting for your love
I wanna see your smile
Brighten up my day
Yes I 19m waiting for your love
Yes I 19m waiting for your love

Oh I 19m waiting for your love
I 19m wondering where you are
Are you with another guy
Are you showing him the world
Oh I 19m waiting for your love
I wanna see your smile
Brighten up my day
Yes I 19m waiting for your love
Yes I 19m waiting for your love

16th-Mar-2009 09:09 am - A LITTLE TOO NOT OVER YOU

I AM REALLY CRAZY OVER THIS SONG RIGHT NOW. MATAGAL NA 'TO, I KNOW. BUT STILL, THE LYRICS ARE SOO *OUCH*. TITLE PA LANG, SENTI NA.

A LITTLE TOO NOT OVER YOU

by: David Archuleta *you rock*

It never crossed my mind at all
That's what I tell myself
What we had has come and gone
You're better off with someone else
It is for the best
I know it is
But I see you

Sometimes I try to hide
What I feel inside
And I turn around
You're with him now
I just can't figure it out

Tell me why
You're so hard to forget
Don't remind me
I'm not over it
Tell me why
I can't seem to face the truth
I'm just a little too not over you

Memories suppose to fade
What's wrong with my heart
Shake it off let it go
Didn't think it would be this hard
Should be strong, moving on
But I see you

Sometimes I try to hide
What I feel inside
And I turn around
You're with him now
I just can't figure it out

Tell me why
You're so hard to forget
Don't remind me
I'm not over it
Tell me why
I can't seem to face the truth
I'm just a little too not over you

Maybe I regret
Everything I said
No way to take it all back
Yeah
Now I'm on my own
How I let you go
I'll never understand
I'll never understand
Yeah, ohhh.

Tell me why
You're so hard to forget
Don't remind me
I'm not over it
Tell me why
I can't seem to face the truth
I'm just a little too not over you

Tell me why
You're so hard to forget
Don't remind me
I'm not over it
Tell me why
I can't seem to face the truth
And I really don't know what to do
I'm just a little too not over you

Not over you, ooh.

12th-Jan-2009 07:03 pm - REFLECTION PAPER FOR SELF-INJURY

“Research indicates that young people injure themselves because they can’t handle intense feelings and so turn to self-destructive behavior as a way to express their emotions.” This was the line that struck me the most after reading the article, and I strongly agree with it since I can very much relate.

I have a few good friends who take refuge in injuring themselves when the going gets really tough. And I have seen the horrible scars on their wrists. They told me they do it because of the intense hurt and depression that they feel, while some tell me that they do it for no reason at all, which I doubt that what they said is true. It’s very common nowadays for adolescents to self-injure themselves because it was their way of coping with life’s stresses and disappointments. It’s like their form of defense mechanism, in which they inflict pain physically in order for them to be momentarily distracted from the psychological pain they are feeling. This is a very disturbing behavior indeed, and this has become the reason why a lot of teens are brought to the Emergency department. They sometimes go beyond the limit and injure themselves to the point of near-death.

I will not deny the fact that I, too, attempted to inflict physical injury on myself when it came to a point in my life (about 4 or 5 years back) that I was no longer able to bear my loneliness and depression. Yes, I did think of injuring myself, however, that was only an attempt. I wasn’t looking for a way to die, but was only trying to make the psychological pain go away, even if it’s just temporary. But, I never had enough courage to mutilate myself, so I placed the blade back to where I’ve found it. That’s why I was interested in this article. I was worried that maybe there was something wrong with me since I also attempted to hurt myself. And after reading the article, I was relieved when I’ve learned that self-injury is not a failed suicide attempt, but a form of dealing with living. I’ve come to know healthy ways of how to cope up with sadness and depression, and I will definitely not make the same mistake of holding the blade again when I’m really down.

As a health care giver, I found this article very much helpful in dealing with these kind of patients. I have learned what and how to assess if a patient is a self-abuser or is at high risk of self-injury, and I must take note of the client’s verbal cues also. I’ve also learned that listening to them is a must and we must engage them in psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy so they can understand their thoughts and behaviors and so they may have better impulse control. I can also apply these to my friends who continue to self-mutilate despite the advices given to them. Counseling plus drug therapy with opiate receptor blockers have also been found effective for these patients. It is our priority as nurses to help reduce these destructive behaviors in order for them to deal with life’s stresses normally and in a healthy way.

Indeed, after reading the article, I have gained new insights regarding self-injury, which I can apply not only to my patients but also to self-abusers I know.
